hello and welcome to the 2020 425 information session my name is Shelly Lance and I'm the manager of Zionsville Community Schools Universal preschool program this PowerPoint is an review of universal preschool and also has important information on how you can enroll your child for 2024 25 or enrollment process has changed so it will be very important you notice and adhere to all dates listed in this information session and these dates are also relisted on our web page before we begin I'd like to point out the Links at the top right of the web page where you can find answers to many of the questions may have about our Universal preschool and our programs all the important dates and links to ezchildtrack are also listed on this site below the PowerPoint so let's begin our preschool classrooms are housed within our six elementary schools those six schools are listed on this slide and also on the web page if you're unsure of which school you reside you can follow the link at the top-right this page to see your school by subdivision or if you don't live in a subdivision and you're still unsure you can contact the Lynn Kissel at the email provided at the end of this presentation we offer one free school classroom and one Pre-K classroom at each of our elementary sites in addition we have to pre-k transitional classrooms at Pleasant View more information about that will come later in this presentation so this means that our space availability is very limited so let's talk about preschool your child is eligible to enroll in our preschool classroom if they turn 3 by August 1st 2024 your family is eligible to enroll if you're zcs employee or you live within the Zionsville School District without taking you through all of these points I want to mostly and besides that are school classroom focuses on social-emotional development and building Independence yes we do early literacy language and numbers and we are play based but it is important to say than a social emotional station is really important in this program our staff to student ratio is 128 with a class size no bigger than 16 to be eligible for pre-k your child must turn 4 by August 1st to the 24 all the same eligibility requirements apply I think the biggest difference between our preschool and our Pre-K classroom is a focus on kindergarten Readiness we do have a 9 to 1 to student ratio with a class size no bigger than 18 we also have to pre-k transitional classrooms which are housed at Pleasant View Elementary School these are integrated classrooms with half the students iep's individualized education plans and have been typically developing students who serve as pure models disenrollment would be open to your Pre-K students if they do not have an IP any areas of development the benefits include being led by a licensed developmental preschool teacher having a supplemental curriculum and this is a great opportunity to learn tolerance and develop appreciation for diverse if you have a sibling already at Pleasant View who is Kate through for this also runs on the same schedule as the K through 4 students beginning at 8 a.m. and ending at 2:30 p.m. there's some preschool Milestones that are important for Universal preschool enrollment being toilet trained being able to feed themselves independently and also we do take a nap quiet time since each class nap needs are different it's hard to say what it looks like for each classroom but we do require at least 30 minutes of rest on the cot each day we do ask that family sign a toilet training and nap agreement which is linked on this website we do have quite a few of enrolment options including five days Monday through Friday three days Monday Wednesday Friday and today Tuesday Thursday options all those you can enroll in full or partial day and don't forget are transitional classroom which is a five-day program if you want information on pricing please take a look at the link at the top-right of our web page for more specifics many families wonder why our enrollment is so limited especially in our Pre-K classrooms and this is why do to The Limited space at each location we can only offer wanna Pre-K room one preschool room at all the locations are CCS staff and currently enrolled families can enroll before registration is open to the public and it is likely that families who are presently enrolled in preschool grab those Prix K spots before they're open to the public so it is for this reason if your school location is not able to offer Pre-K spots at your site please consider the Pre-K transitional classroom at Pleasant View Elementary if you are concerned that your child may have any speech delays or any other academic social or physical needs please contact Tara at the email or phone number below and she can give you more information developmental preschool program and now let's get to the important enrollment dates we will not be sending an email reminder so it's important to take note of the dates you're eligible and then roll through ezchildtrack on States for CCS staff your dates are January 15th and 16th for currently enrolled families you can enroll you're currently enrolled student or sibling on January 17th and 18th but please note that failure to enroll during your eligibility window will forfeit early enrollment privileges for both staff and currently enrolled families so now if you're in the public and you're wanting to record just a position or a an enrollment your registration dates are 19 20 21 22 and 23 what you will do is go through ezchildtrack submit the information and the well then put in a request for enrollment you do not need to do this early or on January 19th there's no rush it's not first come first serve we will conduct the lottery on January 24th the lottery will be conducted from the requests that are submitted on January 19th 2021 22 and 23 from the Public Public will be notified it was quotes from The Lottery on January 24th how do you submit your registration or request through ezchildtrack will I will go through this in a little more detail there is a $175 registration fee to enroll in Universal preschool your credit card will not be charged if your child does not secure a spot for 2020 for 25 there are step by step directions on how to navigate and enroll through ezchildtrack and those are linked on the universal preschool web page you should complete the ezchildtrack registration from a desktop or computer do not use your cell phone the ezchildtrack lottery will work as follows the request will be separated by specific buildings and enrollment requests and age and then the names will be drawn from those groups depending on what enrollment options we have available after the staff and currently enrolled families have done registering if your child is not selected in the lottery we will contact you with other such as being on our waitlist you will receive an email confirmation when your enrollment has been secured on our web page you will find lots of different resources cluding a frequently Asked question document please check that if you have some specific question you would like to know it may be listed on that document a detailed document with step by step instructions on easy child track is also did as I told you earlier you will receive an email confirmation when you are when you have a spot secured for 2024 and 25 you will be notified of enrollment status before or on January 24th if you are accepted into our program additional paperwork is on our Universal preschool web page Universal preschool is not a year-round program it's only offered when Science middle schools are in session so you might find yourself needing some additional child care options we have those who are grow programming and they include before and after care which is called b a c we also have access days which are offered when Zionsville Community Schools are closed for break such as fall winter and spring and we also have Universal preschool Z camp those dates are not yet available for enrollment but will be communicated through the webpage or if you
