Families raise their children in Zionsville and Whitestown it's a warm place with a larger-than-life spirit of community at its home to Zionsville Community Schools one of the top-performing K-12 educational institutions in the state of Indiana we absolutely love the school district this is kind of foundation and why we're here we know our kids are getting a great education and we know the teachers are top-notch we know the experiences that they'll be part of our top-notch nevermind all the extracurricular stuff that they're involved in in a recent survey of our communities percent gave our schools a letter grade of A or B this is up from 80% in 2012 and significantly higher than the national average of 70% based on the well-regarded annual Gallup poll but our schools have a challenge a good one people keep choosing the Zionsville Community Schools for their children's education and roll night is growing and will soon be out of space parents know kids are being well cared for 10 schools are being challenged as much as they can be challenged in schools and and that therefore the school's it permit them to make the rest of the community strong Panda and all of that goes together to make housing value stays high and we have more than 7,000 students in Zionsville Community Schools and that's up 3,000 in just the last decade are studies show that we are going to add to her new students per year for the next decade and so that relates to our facilities we've done a comprehensive facilities study using some experts from the area who work regionally in international firms and they indicate was that capacities are going to be out strip pretty quickly in fact we know that this year Boone Meadow Elementary will be at 105% of capacity in the year after Union Elementary will be there and we're already out stripping our abilities to deal with 21 Richland Center High School have a single Corridor and so it's you were having traffic congestion and we need more classroom space there as well the teachers can really pull into the keto my daughter right now in her first grade class has won t get in her class and being a former teacher I was thinking the lowest funded School District in the state of Indiana and we have been quite some time in 2015 the legislative session assisted Us in stemming the free-fall that was happening but even with the most recent work of the general assembly we Remain the lowest funded School District in the state so are planning shows that it is best that we go ahead in 2019 and make sure that we have two referendum on the ballot and those referendum would be a renewal of the operating referendum that actually pays for about a third of all of our teachers in count at this point cuz Indiana has become a referendum state if both questions are approved the school tax rate would stay the same or decrease likely for many taxpayers others may see their bills Elevate slightly to moderately based on location in the district home value calculator for individuals to check their tax impact is being provided on the school's website more information is available at the Zionsville Community School website
