Software Requests & Installation Schedule

In an effort to further communication with staff, keep a hold on labor costs, and deal with overall technology needs efficiently, the technology group has put together a software installation schedule for building desktops.  Once approved the software will then be installed in accordance with the following installation schedule:
 

 

Must have software turned in to Tech Dept by:    Approved software* will be installed by:

End of School Year (June)     Start of School (August)

End of September End of October

End of November End of Christmas break

End of January End of February

End of March End of April

 

*All software purchases must be pre-approved by technology department – no matter if it’s a free download or where the funds come from to purchase it.

Please keep the following items in mind:

1.      Some software will not work or play nice with other software no matter what we do - turning in the software is no guarantee that it can be installed to operate correctly.

2.      Building departments or grade levels need to meet and agree on the software they are requesting to be installed.  We are trying to avoid installing different pieces of software based on personal preference that have identical functions.

3.      This schedule does not apply to student netbooks and laptops.  We can only make software changes for netbooks and laptops during summer months.

4.      All install requests need to be processed through Donna Collins.  We will then make sure the building principal is on board with the request.
